In his fourth season with The Lily Whites, Pavlyuchenko rarely get the chance to be starter. Already half the season gone, the new 30-year striker played 12 times in all competitions with a contribution of four goals.
Not satisfied with the condition that in the transfer market this winter Pavlyuchenko decided to "go home" to Russia. Not to return to former club Spartak Moscow but rather to the rival club, Lokomotiv Moscow.
"I think I made the right decision in my career. Decision to join Lokomotiv Moscow is no exception," he said on Sky Sports.
"Lokomotiv is a top team and I want to help them achieve success. This season is a real chance to win the Russian championship," added the Russian striker.
Has officially moved, Pavlyuchenko does not necessarily speak ill of his move despite Spurs because he was rarely given the opportunity by the London club.
"I could have survived at Tottenham and was heavily involved. (But) My desire is to play. I decided, along with my family, this is the best way. I've played in a strong league (with Spurs), I enjoy the game and I scored several important goals. During his time there, I have developed as a footballer and I became more professional, "he concluded.
