Manchester - Roberto Mancini has accused Wayne Rooney joined fanning the referee Chris Foy in order to repel Vincent Kompany. Rooney has denied it and now he had the support of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Kompany red-carded in the 12th minute when Manchester City meet Manchester United in the FA Cup third round on Sunday (08/01/2012). Belgian international defender is considered to have made a fatal mistake because Dachshund launched two legs towards Nani though replays showed that the Dachshund is on the ball.
Mancini was upset by red card this Kompany. He pointed to Rooney, who was near the scene, Foy has been influenced by spontaneous reaction until the court finally pulled out a red card.
Rooney has defended himself on charges of Mancini. According to him, Kompany deserve expelled for dangerous tackle.
Rooney reaction was then also got a defense of Ferguson. "I have no worries about the behavior in it because in my mind it was a clumsy tackle and Nani was lucky because he did not get a bad injury," Ferguson said on Sky Sports.
"I have no complaints about Wayne. I think what he did is acceptable. I think it is a natural reaction to a bad tackle from an opponent," he explained.
